MeshQu selected to participate in the FCA Digital Sandbox

MeshQu has been selected to participate in the FCA Digital Sandbox, the regulator's environment for testing financial innovation against realistic synthetic data.

The selection follows our published research programme. Across three pre-registered experiments, we have studied whether automated and AI decisions can be made independently verifiable — capturing a signed record of what was decided, under which policy, on what inputs, at the moment the decision is made. That work established the method. The Sandbox lets us take it a step further, against data we could not otherwise access.

What we will demonstrate

In the Sandbox we will demonstrate a specific claim: that when a decision is challenged after the fact, the answer can be retrieved from a record made at the time, rather than reconstructed months later. We will test this over synthetic authorised push payment fraud data — a domain where every decision a bank makes is now potentially one it has to defend, and where the cost of reconstruction is real.

How we will run it

We will run this the same way we run all our work. The test design is pre-registered before execution, with success criteria and the conditions that would prove us wrong fixed in advance. We will publish what we find, including the predictions that break.
